5 Covid-19 cases on Saturday and Sunday, no case on Monday

Five new Covid-19 cases were reported in the last two days- Saturday and Sunday, taking the state’s tally to 4,465, an official said.

 

No fresh case was reported on Monday.

 

While three cases were reported on Saturday, two others were reported on Sunday.

 

The five cases were reported from Aizaw district. Four patients, three of them nonstate residents, have come from other states, while one patient-a healthcare worker was diagnosed with Covid-19 during contact tracing, the official said.

 

The number of Covid-19 cases in the state now stands at 26, while 4,428 people have recovered from the virus.

 

The state has so far tested 2,51,064 samples, including 1,405 on Saturday.

 

Meanwhile, state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi said that a total of 52,599 people, including 17,296 senior citizens and 1,820 people with comorbidities have received the first jab of Covid-19 vaccine till Monday.

 

10,307 healthcare workers and 3,176 frontline workers have already received the second dose of vaccine, she said.
