Mizoram’s active cases drop below 80

Mizoram‘s active caseload dropped to 79 on Monday as the recovery rate increased to 97.96 percent.

 

According to the state health bulletin one new infection of novel coronavirus has been detected while seven patients have been discharged during the last 24 hours.

 

The new patient, a 32-year-old pregnant woman, hails from Nisapui village in Aizawl district. She tested positive at a hospital in Aizawl where she was admitted for delivery. The source of her infection is being traced, the source said.

 

A total of 269 samples were tested during the last 24 hours.

 

During January 1 to 18, Mizoram has detected 119 cases of Covid-19 from 13,441 samples, which is a downward trend with 0.88 percent positivity rate.

 

Mizoram has so far tested 1,93,035 samples from which 4,323 cases of Covid-19 have been detected, putting positivity rate at 2.33 percent.  From 4,323 patients, 4,235 have been discharged so far while nine have succumbed to the viral infection.

 

Of the eleven districts, Champhai, Hnahthial, Mamit, Serchhip and Siaha are Covid-19 free districts as of now.
