Covid-19 recovery rate in Mizoram improves to 98.24%

With 4,258 people out of the total 4,334 Covid-19 patients in Mizoram having been discharged till today, the state’s recovery rate in viral infection today stood at 97.72 percent while the number of active cases dropped below 70 to 67.

 

Mizoram has so far tested 1,95,535 samples till January 19, including 1,119 samples tested on Tuesday, from which 4,334 cases of Covid-19 have been detected, putting positivity rate at 2.22 percent. The state has till date  nine fatalities.

 

With five new cases, Mizoram’s Covid-19 caseload today reached 4,334.

 

Of the five new cases, three were reported from Aizawl and one each from Lunglei and Siaha districts.

 

Two of the new patient, including a seven-year-old-girl, were locally infected while the rest three have recently returned from outside Mizoram.

 

With just 130 cases detected between January 1 to 20, Mizoram’s curve for Covid-19 appears to be on a downward trend.
