A meeting of Lawngtlai District Task Force Immunisation (DTFI) on COVID-19 vaccination was held today at the DC's Conference Hall, Lawngtlai under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika.
The meeting was attended by Lawngtlai Chief Medical Officer Dr LP Malsawma, officials from health department, hospitals, ICDS, police and home guard.
Member Secretary, District Immunisation Officer Dr S. Thaizi gave a brief report on COVID-19 vaccination. It was reported that COVID-19 vaccination for healthcare workers was launched for Lawngtlai District on 19th January, 2021 and 1st dose has been administered to 700 beneficiaries. 2nd dose for healthcare workers and 1st dose for frontline workers will be given from 17th February, 2021.
Reports on special immunisation activities and National Immunisation Day observed on 2nd February, 2021 were also given in the meeting. In the NID, out of 16,106 children under 5 years of age targeted within Lawngtlai District, pulse polio vaccination was administered to 15,924 children, that was 98.9%.
