Assam Rifles conducts Covid awareness drive in Mizoram

In view of the COVID-19 outbreak, Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of 23 Sector Assam Rifles/ Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) organised 'COVID-19 Awareness Drive' at all COBs/POB on 19th Feb 2021.

 

The aim of the drive was to create awareness amongst the local population about the prevailing COVID-19 situation and the vaccination drive which has been inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi on 16th Jan 2021. The awareness drive was conducted by all COBs/POB and it has covered the remote areas of the BN's AOR such as VillMimbung, Ngopa, New Vaikhawtlang, Kawlbem and VillHnahlan where in our troops educated the villagers about COVID-19 protocols, such as maintaining social distancing, washing of hands, wearing mask properly & avoid social gatherings and a need to stay at home till this situation is not over was stressed upon.

 

The awareness drive was attended by the large number of villagers. The villagers were also made part of an interactive session on COVID-19, wherein they came up with their questions/ perceptions on the Pandemic which in turn were adequately clarified by the Nursing Assistants. The efforts of Assam rifles was well received and adequately appreciated by the VCP and local populace.
