Three cases push Mizoram's Covid-19 tally to 4,426

Three people, including a two-year-old girl, have tested positive for novel coronavirus in Mizoram, taking the state's tally to 4,426, an official said.

 

Two cases were reported from Aizawl district and one from Saitual district, he said.

 

The three patients have returned from other states recently and two of them, who tested negative for Covid-19 on their arrival in the state, have later developed symptoms of Covid-19 and were found infected with the virus, he said.

 

The two year-old girl has no symptoms of Covid-19, he said.

 

According to the official, the number of active cases now stands at 19, while 4,397 people have already recovered from the virus.

 

The Covid-19 death toll in the state is 10.

 

The state has also tested 2,33,303 samples till date, including 1,010 on Monday.

 

So far, 22,819 people, including 247 old age persons (60 and above years) have been administered the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, according to state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi.

 

6,694 healthcare workers have already received the second dose of vaccine, she said.
