Mizoram reports 1 Covid-19 case, tally rises to 4,428


Mizoram on Friday reported one Covid19 case, taking the state's tally to 4,428, an official said. The new patient- a 23-year-old girl from Aizawl has returned from Delhi and was diagnosed with Covid-19 upon her arrival at Lengpui airport, he said.


She developed symptoms of Covid-19, the official added.


According to him, the number of active cases now stands at 14, while 4,404 people have already recovered from the virus. Four people were discharged from hospital on Friday.


The Covid-19 death toll in the state is 10.


2,36,334 samples have been tested till Thursday.


According to state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi, 30,972 people have been administered the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine till Thursday.


Of this, 11,662 were healthcare workers and 15,651 were frontline workers.


Besides, 89 beneficiaries with comorbidity status and 3,570 of old age people (60 and above years) were also among those who have received the first dose of vaccine, she said.
