Mizoram reports one Covid-19 case, tally rises to 4,435


A 13-year-old boy from Champhai district has tested positive for novel coronavirus in Mizoram, taking the state's tally to 4,435, an official said on Friday. He was locally infected and has no symptoms of Covid-19, he said.


According to the official, the number of active cases now stands at 9, while 4,416 people have recovered from the virus. The death toll in the state still remains at 10, he said. Mizoram has also tested 2,40,960 samples till date, including 516 on Thursday. A total of 42,943 people, including 1,057 with comorbidities and 11,197 senior citizens, have been administered the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine till Thursday, according to health department.


9,944 healthcare workers and 2 frontline workers have already received the second dose of vaccine, it said.
