Three cases push Mizoram’s Covid19 tally to 4,468

Three more people, including a 60-year-old woman, have tested positive for novel coronavirus in Mizoram, taking the state's tally to 4,468, an official said on Tuesday.

 

The three fresh were reported from Aizawl district, he said.

 

Two patients have returned from Delhi and Guwahati while one patient was locally transmitted and was diagnosed with Covid-19 at a private hospital in Aizawl, he said. While one patient has developed symptoms of Covid-19, the two returnees were asymptomatic, he said.

 

The number of active cases now stands at 23, while 4,434 people have recovered from the virus. 6 people were discharged from various Covid19 care centres on Tuesday.

 

Mizoram has reported 11 COVID-19 fatalities so far. The state has tested 2,51,722 samples, including 420 samples on Monday.

 

Meanwhile, state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi said that a total of 52,599 people, including 17,296 senior citizens and 1,820 people with comorbidities have received the first jab of Covid19 vaccine till Monday.

 

10,307 healthcare workers and 3,176 frontline workers have already received the second dose of vaccine, she said.
