Mizoram tally rises to 4,473 as 5 more cases in last 24 hours

Mizoram's Covid-19 count reached 4,473 on Wednesday as five more people, including an 81-year-old woman, have tested positive for the infection, an official statement said on Wednesday. Of the five fresh cases, four cases were reported from Aizawl district and one from Hnahthial district, the statement said. The five cases were detected from 678 samples tested on Tuesday. While two patients have returned from other states, the remaining 3 were diagnosed with Covid19 in private hospitals in Aizawl, it said. Mizoram now has 28 active cases, while 4,434 people have recovered from the virus.

 

The COVID-19 death toll in the state is 11. So far, the state has tested 2,52,400 samples. The COVID-19 recovery in the state is 99.13 per cent and the infection rate is 1.78 per cent.

 

Meanwhile, 52,882 people, including 17,422 senior citizens and 1,862 people with comorbidities have been administered the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
