Three cases takes Mizoram's Covid19 tally to 4,490

Mizoram on Sunday reported three Covid-19 cases, taking the state’s tally to 4,490, an official statement said.

 

All three fresh cases were reported from Aizawl district, the statement said. The three patients have returned from other states.

 

However, one patient was not screened on his arrival on March 29 as he possessed a valid Covid-19 negative certificate. Later, he developed symptoms of Covid-19 and was diagnosed at Aizawl Civil Hospital on Saturday, it said.

 

The remaining two patients are asymptomatic.

 

The number of Covid-19 active case in Mizoram now stands at 40, while 4,439 people have recovered from the virus.

 

The state has reported 11 Covid19 fatalities so far. Mizoram has also tested 2,54,871 samples, including 547 on Saturday.

 

Meanwhile, state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi said that 53,673 people have so far been administered the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine out of which 14,655 people have received the second dose of vaccine.
