Mizoram reports 1 Covid case, tally rises to 4,491


Mizoram on Monday reported one new Covid-19 case as a 42-year-old woman has tested positive for the infection, an official said.


With this the total Covid-19 cases have risen to 4,491, of which 36 are active, he said.


The woman from Aizawl district was diagnosed at a private hospital as she developed symptoms of Covid-19.


It is to ascertain how she contracted the virus, the official said.


Mizoram has so far reported 11 Covid-19 fatalities.


A total of 4,444 people have recovered from the virus so far.


Five people were discharged from Covid-19 Care Centres on Monday.


The state has also tested 2,55,297 samples till date, including 426 on Sunday. Of the total 4,491 cases, Aizawl district reported the highest at 2,952 followed by Lunglei district, which reported 418 cases. Of the 11 districts, 8 are Covid-19 free as of now.
