Two Myanmarese nationals among 36 new COVID-19 patients in Mizoram

 Staff Reporter: Aizawl, April 13:

Two Myanmarese nationals, a 27-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were among 36 new patients of COVID-19 diagnosed during the last 24 hours, an official statement said.

 

Both the Myanmarese nationals, who arrived here a few days back, tested positive at private hospital and are asymptomatic.

 

The 36 new cases, detected from 1,660 sample tested on Monday, took the state’s COVID-19 caseload to 4,665.

 

While 32 cases were detected from Aizawl district, including 11 cases detected at Lengpui Airport, one case was reported from Champhai district and three cases from Lawngtlai district.

 

Of the new patients, 21 have travel history while the rest 15 were locally infected.

 

Mizoram now has 175 active cases of COVID-19 while 4,468 people have recovered from the virus so far, and 12 have succumbed to it.

 

Meanwhile, officials said the current stock of vaccine is estimated to last till today. The requirement of 2 lakh doses for the month of April has been submitted to the Ministry.
