Mizoram reports 150 new COVID-19 cases, 2 more deaths

Mizoram on Monday reported 150 new Covid-19 cases and two more fatalities, pushing the state's Covid19 count to 8,829 and death toll to 26.

 

A 97-year-old man, one Border Security Force (BSF) jawan and over 34 children were among the newly infected people.

 

Of the 150 fresh cases, Aizawl reported the highest cases at 110, followed by Kolasib district and Saitual district, which reported 13 and 8 cases respectively. The remaining cases were registered in , Lunglei, Serchhip and Siaha districts.

 

Nine patients have travel history, while others were found to have locally contracted the infection, the official said.

 

Of the 150 patients, 113 have developed symptoms of Covid-19.

 

Meanwhile, two persons aged 55 and 61 have succumbed to infection at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) on Monday.

 

With this, at least 26 have succumbed to the infection.

 

 The number of active cases now stands at 2,117, while 6,687 people have recovered from the virus.

 

The norheastern state has conducted 3,46,641 samples test for Covid-19 till date, including 599 on Sunday.
