Mizoram on Thursday reported 207 new Covid-19 cases, pushing the state’s tally to 11,143, an official said.
At least 1,963 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and 10.54 per cent of them came out as positive for COVID-19, he said.
While 206 cases were detected through Rapid Antigen Test, one case was confirmed at a TrueNat facility, he said.
Of the 207 fresh COVID-19 cases in Mizoram, 94 cases were reported from Aizawl, 48 from Lawngtlai district, 44 from Lunglei district, 10 from Serchhip district, 6 from Kolasib district and 5 cases were reported from Mamit district.
More than 30 children were among the newly infected people, the official said.
He said that 148 patients have been diagnosed with COVID-19 during contact tracing and it is to ascertain how 58 patients have contracted the virus.
One patient has a travel history, he said.
Of the 207 patients, 155 patients have developed symptoms of COVID-19.
The number of active cases now stands at 2,735, while 8,374 people have recovered from the infection.
82 people were discharged from various Covid-19 Care Centres on Thursday.
The COVID-19 death toll in the state is 34.
Mizoram has conducted 3,77,805 COVID-19 samples test till date.
According to state immunization officer Dr. Lalzawmi, 2,50,244 people have been administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Mizoram and among them 52,040 have received the second dose till Wednesday.
