Along with the rest of the world, World Environment Day (WED) 2021 was observed with the theme ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ in different parts of Mizoram on 5th June, 2021.
Different Government Departments and Institutions organised such activities as Tree Plantation Programme, Webinar, etc. on the occasion of WED, 2021.
Mizoram ENVIS Hub also joint hands with its host institute, Mizoram Pollution Control Board which is the State nodal agency for NGC-Eco-Club in organising programmes as part of celebration of WED, 2021. Online competitions for College and School level Eco-Clubs students were organised in line with the theme of WED 2021 i.e Ecosystem Restoration.
Webinar was also successfully organised on 5th June, 2021 from 8:00 PM onwards with around 366 participants from all over the state.
Lectures on important topics relating to the theme of this year’s WED celebration were delivered from designated speakers for the webinar namely Pu PC Laltanpuia (MFS), Deputy Conservator of Forest (HQS), EF&CC, Pu K. Lalmuansanga, President, ASEP and Dr. David C. Vanlalfakawma, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Forestry, MZU.
Results of the online competitions organised in observance of the Day was also announced during the Webinar.
