Mizoram logs 210 new Covid-19 cases, tally rises to 14,743

Mizoram on Friday reported 210 new COVID-19 cases, taking the state’s tally to 14,743, an official said. He said that the single-day infection rate was decreased to 5.86 per cent as the new cases were detected from 3,581 sample tests. Of the 210 fresh cases, Aizawl district reported 144, Lunglei district (35), Lawngtlai district (16), Kolasib district (10), Champhai and Mamit districts reported 2 each and Siaha district reported 1 case, he said.

 

More than 50 children were among the newly infected people, he said.

 

8 patients have travel history, while the rest were found to have locally contracted the infection, he said. Of the 210 patients, 136 have developed symptoms of Covid-19, he added.

 

Mizoram now has 3,378 Covid-19 active cases, while 11,304 people have recovered from the infection.

 

200 people were discharged from various Covid-19 Care Centres on Friday.

 

At least 61 people have succumbed to the infection. The state has tested 4,24,717 samples for Covid-19 till date.
