At least 50 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Mizoram in the last two days- Saturday and Sunday, pushing the state Covid-19 caseload to 16,943.
The northeastern state also reported 6 Covid-19 fatalities, which took the death toll to 82.
314 people, including two security personnel and over 80 children, had tested positive for novel coronavirus on Saturday, while 193 people, including 43 children were infected with Covid-19 on Sunday.
The 507 fresh cases were reported from various districts with Aizawl registering the highest at 380, followed by Lunglei district, which reported 40 cases.
29 patients have travel history and the rest 478 were found to have locally contracted the infection.
Of the 507 patients, 260 patients have developed symptoms of Covid19. Mizoram now has 3,603 Covid-19 active cases, while 13,258 people have recovered from the infection.
As many as 400 people were discharged from various Covid-19 Care facilities between Saturday and Sunday.
Mizoram has tested 4,52,455 samples for Covid-19 till date.
The recovery rate is 78.25 per cent and death rate is 0.48 per cent.
According to state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi, 3,70,107 people have been administered the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine till Saturday and of this 53,517 people have received both the doses.
