At least 301 more people, including 66 children, tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram, taking the state's tally to 22,155, a health department official said on Wednesday.
The fresh cases were reported from various districts and Aizawl reported the highest at 205, followed by Lunglei at 41 Mamit at 31, he said.
47 new cases were confirmed at a RT-PCR laboratory in Zoram Medical College (ZMC) near Aizawl, while 19 cases were detected through TrueNat facilities and 235 were detected through Rapid Antigen Test from various districts, he said.
Seven patients have travel history, while 294 were found to have contracted the disease locally, the official said.
The single-day positivity rate is at 8.48 per cent as the 301 fresh cases were detected from 3,549 sample tests, he said.
Mizoram now has 3,499 active cases and 18,557 people have recovered from the infection so far. The Covid-19 death toll in the state has climbed to 99 as one more person died on Wednesday. The northeastern state has tested 5,10,467 samples for COVID-19 till date.
State immunisation officer Dr Lalzawmi said that 5,49,233 people have been vaccinated till Tuesday.
