Mizoram logs 311 new COVID-19 CASES

 Staff Reporter: Aizawl July 9: Mizoram on Friday registered 311 fresh infections of COVID-19 taking the state’s tally to 23,014.

 

With the death of a 57-year-old man from M Kawnpui village in Lawngtlai district at 4:00 pm toady, the toll reached 102.

 

The 311 fresh cases were detected from 3,500 samples tested on Thursday, putting the single-day’s positivity rate at 8.88 per cent.

 

While 61 cases were detected at the state’s lone RT-PCR lab at Zoram Medical College, Aizawl, 22 cases were detected at Truenat labs and 228 cases were detected through RAT.

 

Aizawl district reported the highest number of cases at 201, followed by Lunglei with 45 cases and Mamit with 23 cases. Few cases were also reported from five other districts.
