4 more deaths take Mizoram toll to 111

 Staff Reporter Aizawl, July 12:

 

Mizoram has reported four more deaths during the last 24 hours, taking the state's toll to 111. Three women, aged 89, 88 and 84, and a 64-year-old man died between 7:30pm Sunday to 1:30pm Monday due to COVID-19 at Zoram Medical College here.

 

Meanwhile, the State reported 190 fresh infections of COVID-19 today.

 

Of the 190 new cases, 23 were detected from Truenat labs while 167 cases were diagnosed from RAT. No tests were conducted at the RT-PCR lab on Sundays.

 

Detected from 996 samples, the new cases put the single-day's positivity rate at 19.07 per cent.

 

Of the new cases, 148 were reported from Aizawl district, 18 from Kolasib district, five from Lunglei, four from Mamit and two each from Lawngtlai and Siaha.

 

Mizoram now has 4,455 active cases while a total of 19,618 people have so far recovered from the disease.
