No case of black fungus in Mizoram so far

A consultative committee of three departments Health & Family Welfare department, Commerce & Industries department and the Higher & Technical Education Department was convened under the leadership of Minister Dr R.Lalthangliana on Thursday.      

 

According to reports from the Health Department, there have been no reports of black fungus in the state so far. Donations of 1066 oxygen concentrators have been received from generous institutions and individuals. As much as 43 localities are under containment and micro containment zones. There are plans to set up additional oxygen plants in Aizawl as well as district headquarters. Dr.R.Lalthangliana in the meeting said while the government could not achieve its perceived goal due to the pandemic, each department has done a commendable job in their respective lines. The Commerce & Industries department reported the steps they have taken to control soaring vegetable prices, which they said was beneficial to the less privileged families living in urban areas. Steps were also taken to help tailors amidst the lockdown by assigning them jobs of stitching PPE sets for Rs. 600 each. For 50 sets a tailor earns Rs. 7500, and 300 tailors have been employed in the first phase while plans are being made to set up a scheme which includes 600 tailors.

           

The H&TE department reported on their initiatives as well such as the introduction of online class sessions, reduction of school fees and the organisation of Counselling and Mental Health training sessions among others.
