India records over 39,000 fresh Covid-19 cases, Mizoram among most-affected states

India on Monday recorded 39,361 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours with some of the Northeast states recording the highest number of fresh cases after Kerala and Maharashtra.

 

India on Monday recorded 39,361 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours with some of the Northeast states recording the highest number of fresh cases after Kerala and Maharashtra.

 

The top five states that have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 17,466 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 6,843 cases, Mizoram with 2,307 cases, Andhra Pradesh with 2,252 cases and Odisha with 1,833 cases.

 

Of the total fresh Covid-19 cases, 78.0% have been reported from the five states with Kerala alone responsible for 44.37% of the new cases.

 

On the other hand, the maximum casualties have been reported from Maharashtra (123), followed by Odisha with 67 deaths.

 

Apart from the nearly 40,000 cases, India has also recorded 5,968 recoveries and 416 deaths in the last 24 hours. India’s total death toll has now reached 4,20,967.

 

India's recovery rate now stands at 97.35%. A total of 35,968 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

 

India’s total number of active cases now stand at 4,11,189 while the number of recovered cases has climbed to 3,05,79,106. The total number of vaccine doses administered is at 43,51,96,001.

 

India has administered a total of 18,99,874 doses in the last 24 hours. A total of 11,54,444 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
