Mizoram logs 1100 new Covid-19 cases

1100 more people have tested positive for novel coronavirus, pushing the state's tally to 36,397, a health department official said on Thursday.

 

The fresh cases were reported from various districts with Aizawl registering the highest at 819, followed by Lunglei district at 68, the official said.

 

259 fresh cases were confirmed at RT-PCR laboratory in Zoram Medical College (ZMC), while 786 were detected through Rapid Antigen Test and 66 through TrueNat tests, he said. The single-day positivity rate was 15.21 per cent as the fresh cases were detected from 7, 232 samples.

 

Of the 1100 patients, 484 have developed symptoms of Covid-19.

 

Mizoram now has 11600 active cases, while 24557 people have recovered from the infection, including 246 people on Thursday. The recovery rate among Covid-19 patients is 68.42% per cent.
