India logs 18,833 new Covid-19 cases; active cases decline to 2.46 lakh, lowest in over 200 days

India registered 18,833 new Covid-19 cases and 278 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the country's active caseload declined by 6,215 in the last 24 hours. The overall active cases tally stands at 2,46,687, the lowest in 203 days.

 

India registered 18,833 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 2.7 per cent higher than the number reported on Tuesday. With fresh cases, the country's overall caseload has mounted to 3,38,71,881, showed the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare early Wednesday.


The top five states which registered the maximum number of Covid-19 cases are Kerala with 9,735 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 2,401 cases, Mizoram with 1,471 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,449 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 671 cases.
