Cleanliness Week 2021 closed in various District of Mizoram

The Cleanliness Week 2021 with a theme of ‘Cleaning our home and it's vicinity’ observed between 2nd and 8th October, 2021 was closed today in various districts of Mizoram.

 

In Champhai, the closing function of Cleanliness Week 2021 was held at Horticulture Complex, New Champhai at 2:00 pm today which was attended by Maria CT Zuali, Deputy Commissioner of Champhai district as a Chief Guest. Various prizes regarding cleanliness competition were distributed by her at the function.

 

Addressing the function, Maria CT Zuali said that a cleanliness drive should not be stopped after the week is over, it should be continued throughout the year. Everyone has equal responsibility to make the district clean, she said.

 

Prizes are distributed according to the categories as follows: 1. Village: 1st - Zote, 2nd - Venglai and 3rd - Kahrawt. 2. Office: 1st - District Treasury Office, 2nd - SP Office and 3rd - SE, PHE Office. 3. School: 1st - Champhai Higher Secondary School, 2nd - Vengsang High school and 3rd - PES, Zotlang. 4. Newspaper (Cleanliness Campaign Coverage): 1st - Lenrual Newspaper, 2nd - Pasaltha Newspaper and 3rd - Rihlipui Newspaper. 5, Restaurant: 1st - BSP Restaurant, Vengthlang, 2nd - Purple Orchid, CHANEM and 3rd - LL Mega, Aawmpuiphei. 6. Hotel: 1st - Hotel Hranga Plaza, Vengthlang, 2nd - Chawngthu Hotel, Vengthlang. 7. Market: 1st - Bethel Bazar, 2nd - Bazarpui, Vengthlang and 3rd - Electric Bazar. 8. Hospital : 1st - DM Hospital, 2nd - District Hospital, Champhai and 3rd - Med Aim Hospital. 9. Photography : 1st - Zosangzuala, Vengthlang, 2nd - Laltanpuia, Chhungte and 3rd - Lalhriatpuia, Venglai. 10. 1 Minute Mobile Video Clip Making Competition: 1st - Lalhruaitluanga, Venglai, 2nd - C. Lalrindika, Vengthlang North and 3rd - K. Lalchamliana, Vengsang.

 

In Lunglei, the closing function of Cleanliness Week 2021 was organized at Convention Centre Hall, Lunglei. Dr. K. Pachhunga, MLA Lunglei South, Vice-Chairman, Mizoram Bamboo Development Board made his presence felt as a Chief Guest.

 

The MLA said Lunglei District is going forward by the hard works of Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Department. The government and the departments could not sweep all over Lunglei, the combination of all NGOs and the people make the Lunglei clean, he said. He also said that the importance of a healthy mind goes beyond external cleanliness.

 

The prizes of the competition to mark Cleanliness Week were distributed as - 1. Photography competition: 1st - Sangtea Tlau, 2nd - C. Lalhmangaihzuala and 3rd - Lalthanzama Hauheng. 2. One minute video clip: 1st - C. Lalhmangaihzuala. 2nd - Chhana Bawlte and 3rd - MC Zoengpuia.

 

In Serchhip, the closing function of Serchhip District Cleanliness Week, 2021 was organized at the DC Conference Hall. Kumar Abhishek, Deputy Commissioner was Chief Guest.

 

Addressing the function, Kumar Abhishek said the people of mizo much aware about cleanliness, more steps are required for long term cleanliness, he added. The present generation need to make the state a good place to live for future generation, he said.

 

At the closing function of the Cleanliness Week presided over by K. Saitluanga, DIPRO, prizes of the competition were distributed. Vanlalliantluanga, DUDO gave a report of the week.

 

In Khawzawl, closing function of Cleanliness Week 2021 was held at Zuchhip Branch YMA Hall, Khawzawl which was presided over by Ngurthansanga, DUDO, Khawzawl. A report of activities during Cleanliness Week were given by all Village Council (VC).

 

In Kolasib, Cleanliness Week 2021 was closed in a function held at I&PR Conference Hall, Kolasib. Dr. H. Lalthlangliana, Deputy Commissioner was Chief Guest at the function.

 

Dr. H. Lalthlangliana said Kolasib could be the cleanest town in the state if the people fulfil their responsibility in cleanliness as they have Solid Waste Management Centre under UD&PA Department, Plastic Bailing Machine under PHED. He asked the gathered people to continue cleanliness works throughout the year.

 

In Hnahthial, Saizikpuii, Addl. Deputy Commissioner said though the Cleanliness Week is being closed, cleanliness is not closed. She asked to continue cleanliness the whole year.

 

Lalremruata Sailo, SDO (Sadar) and DUDO presided over the closing function of the Cleanliness Week 2021 organized at DC Conference Hall, Hnahthlial. Chief Guest Saizikpuii said various initiatives are being taken to mark 75 years of Independence Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, full effort is given to cleanliness, she daid.

 

In Mamit, the closing function of 45th Cleanliness Week, 2021 was held at the DC Conference Hall, Mamit with Dr. Lalrozama, IAS, DC Mamit as the Chief Guest for the occasion.

 

Reports on the various activities during the week were given by Zodinsanga Colney, Manager NLUM. The prizes given in the programme are as follows: 1. Cleanliness Locality - Bazar Veng VC Area. 2. Photography Competition: 1st Rank - Darthanmawia Chhangte, Kawrthah, 2nd Rank - TP Chawngthu, Bazar Veng, Mamit and 3rd Rank - Jenny Lalawmpuii, Luangpawl, Mamit. 3. 1 Minute Video Clip Making Competition: 1st Rank - Zorina Fanai, Zawlnuam, 2nd Rank - Zoremsanga, Field Veng, Mamit and 3rd Rank - YMA 'A' Section, Kawrthah.

 

45th Cleanliness Week, 2021 theme is "Cleaning our home and it's vicinity". The Programme was chaired by Pu Sawihlira, DUDO Mamit.
