Mizoram on Thursday reported 741 new COVID-19 cases, 76 less than the COVID19 cases reported on the previous day, with the tally increasing to 1,15,207, an official said. The death toll rose to 400 as seven more people have succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, the official said. The single-day positivity rate dipped to 8.97 per cent from 12.36 per cent on the previous day, while the positivity rate for the past seven days stood at 11.59 per cent, he said. At least 168 children were among the newly infected people, he said.
The number of Covid-19 active cases now stands at 9,727, while 1,05,080. The recovery rate among Covid-19 patients is 91.20 per cent and the death rate remains at 0.34 per cent. The state has conducted more than 12.46 lakh sample tests for COVID-19 so far, of this 8,264 samples were tested on Wednesday. Over 6.92 lakh people have been vaccinated till Wednesday, of which 4.96 lakh people have received full dose of Covid-19 vaccine, state immunisation officer Dr Lalzawmi said.
