Mizoram’s COVID-19 tally surged to 1,15,944 on Friday as 737 more people tested positive for the infection, a health department official said.
The COVID-19 death toll climbed to 400 as four more people succumbed to the infection in the past 24 hours, he said.
The single-day positivity rate at 9.40 per cent, he said.
145 samples were reported through Zoram Medical College (ZMC) RT-PCR test, 541 cases were reported through Rapid Antigen test, 40 new cases were confirmed by TrueNAT test and 11 positive cases were found from Fluorescent Immunoassay (FIA), he said.
At least 169 children were among the newly infected people. Of the fresh cases, 431 new patients have developed symptoms of COVID-19. The number of Covid-19 active cases now stands at 9,286, while 748 people have recovered on Friday, taking the total recovery to 1,06,258. The recovery rate among Covid-19 patients in the state is at 91.64 per cent and the death rate is 0.34 per cent. The state has conducted more than 12,54 lakh sample tests for COVID-19 so far, of these 7,833 samples were tested on Thursday. Over 6.93 lakh people have been vaccinated till Thursday, of which 4.98 lakh people have received full dose of COVID-19 vaccine, state immunisation officer Dr Lalzawmi said.
