At least 437 people, including 41 students, teachers and staff of a private school in Aizawl, have tested novel coronavirus in Mizoram, pushing the state tally to 1,31,685, a health department official said.
The death toll rose to 477 as two more persons from Lawngtlai and Champhai have succumbed to the infection, he said.
The single-day positivity rate was 13.95 per cent as the fresh cases were detected from 3,133 sample tests.
The fresh cases were reported from various districts with Aizawl registering the highest at 225, followed by Lunglei (106) and Kolasib (36), he said.
The number of active cases now stands at 4,900, which is 3.72 per cent of the total cases.
According to bulletin released by state information and public relations department at 5 pm on Sunday, 145 people have recovered on Sunday, taking the total recoveries to 1,26,308.
The recovery rate among COVID19 patients is 95.91 per cent and the death rate is 0.36 per cent.
The northeastern state has so far tested more than 13.98 lakh samples for COVID-19 and 3,133 samples were tested on Saturday.
State immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi said that over 7.10 lakh people have been vaccinated and 5.46 lakh of them have already received full dose till Saturday.
