Mizoram logs 328 new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths

Mizoram on Friday reported 328 new COVID-19 cases- 8 less than the previous day- taking the state's tally to 1,37,705, a health department official said.

 

The death toll rose to 512 as three more people have succumbed to the infection, he said.

 

The single-day positivity rate increased to 14 per cent from the previous day 10.49 per cent, he said.

 

Aizawl district reported the highest fresh cases at 134, followed by Khawzawl district (53) and Serchhip district (45), he said.

 

According to a bulletin by released by the state information and public relations department at 5 pm on Friday, there are 2,820 active cases, while 278 people have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 1,34,373.

 

Of the total 512 COVID-19 victims, 82 per cent had co-morbidity, it said.

 

The recovery rate among COVID19 patients is 97.58 per cent and the death rate is 0.37 per cent, the bulletin said.

 

The state has so far tested 14.59 lakh samples for COVID19 and 2,342 samples were tested on Thursday.

 

Over 7.24 lakh people have been inoculated and of this 5.73 lakh people have received full dose of COVID-19 vaccine, state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi said.
