Mizoram Covid-19 count reached a 60,000 mark on Thursday as 1,111 people have tested positive for them infection, while one more death took the death toll to 219, a health department official said.

The new cases were reported from various districts with Aizawl district reporting the highest at 684, followed by Lunglei district at 118 and Kolasib district at 71, he said.

The single-day positivity rate was 12.28 per cent as the fresh cases were detected from 9,052 samples, he said. Mizoram now has 9,728 Covid-19 active cases, while 51,163 people have recovered from the infection, including 135 on Wednesday till 5 pm. The state has conducted tests on more than 8.82 lakh samples till date. According to state immunisation officer, over 6.55 lakh people have been vaccinated till Wednesday of which 2.39 lakh have received full dose of vaccine.
